With wellness and health at the core of its offering, Blue World Voyages is launching its inaugural cruising programme next summer.

Billing itself as the first company in the global cruise industry “fully dedicated to active, athletic, healthy lifestyles”, Blue World Voyages niche will be “Active Lifestyle Cruising”. Slated for a summer 2019 launch in the Mediterranean, its first ship will have one entire deck designated for sports, exercise and wellness, and a second deck dedicated to spa and rejuvenation.

The ship will carry locally-sourced farm-to-table cuisine, run active shore excursions, and partner up with wellness experts and leading brands.

Three 350-passenger, 5-Star ‘casual’ ships are planned for the Blue World Voyage fleet with ports of call based on the availability of cycling, hiking, golf and water sports and access to yoga, meditation and cultural and learning experiences.

Of the launch, Gene Meehan, Chairman and Founder said, “Blue World Voyages was created for health-conscious individuals, sports and fitness enthusiasts, and those in search of personal improvement. Our focus on Active Lifestyle Cruising is not an option or an add-on. It forms the core of our overall cruise travel experience, deeply embedded into every aspect of the company, from ship design and onboard programmes to dining options and itineraries.”

The bow to stern Sports Deck is outfitted with golf and football simulators; batting cages; a functional training centre; yoga, spinning and TRX studios. There are three pools, including a seawater “lap pool” for open water swim training. On the Spa deck, guests can enjoy a relaxing therapy tub, indoor and outdoor treatment rooms and solarium. Making further waves in industry waters, Blue World Voyages is also set to become the first cruise line to invite passengers to become business partners, participating in the formation of the company through its Owners Club and Founders Club.

For the Owners Club, Blue World is introducing a unique ship configuration for a new cruise line, with 26 luxury one-and two-bedroom residences.  These units will be sold under the direction of co-founder, Fredy Dellis, former President/CEO of the World at ResidenSea. The Founders Club is open to the first 500 individuals investing in the company’s crowdfunding campaign via a UK platform soon to be announced.

“People want to take ownership of their health, even when on holiday,” said Meehan. “The timing is right for quality hospitality groups to recognise and address this fact. Blue World Voyages is setting the precedent in the cruise industry. We are doing something completely different.”

Currently, any European travellers interested in the new cruise line are being offered incentives and perks for visiting Blue World Voyages and registering for updates.
