Quinta do Lago, the exclusive estate resort in the Algarve, has just launched a  new steak restaurant, Bovino. The latest addition to the resort’s impressive gastro scene offers modern steakhouse dining within an urban design by international designer, Lázaro Roza-Violán.

This contemporary space is home to both Bovino Steakhouse and neighbouring restaurant, Casa Velha, in addition to a pool, lounge and bar with some impressive lake views. The new design by Lázaro combines traditional materials such as coloured tiles and Portuguese ‘calçada’ flooring with a contemporary urban approach reflective of styles found in New York’s Manhattan or London’s Shoreditch.

Fine quality meat is at the heart of Bovino’s philosophy and the meat producers, who supply over 100 Michelin starred restaurants throughout Europe, practice a unique method known as Ultra-Tender, to deliver a unique consistency in the tenderness of the beef. It is then dry-aged to enhance flavour and taste.

John Dwyer, CEO of Quinta do Lago comments: “This is an exciting summer for Quinta do Lago and will bring our restaurant total from seven to nine. Portugal and the Algarve are increasingly being recognised for their gastronomic excellence and at Quinta do Lago we are at the forefront of this movement. Thanks to our continued programme of investment and strategy for growth we continue to reinvest in the resort allowing us to provide both residents and visitors with the highest quality of facilities, services and of course restaurants offering cuisine from around the world to reflect our global audience. We are delighted to have partnered with a designer as renowned and admired as Lázaro Roza-Violán for this project and the space he has created is truly stunning, breathing a contemporary outlook into a very traditional setting.”
