The Gulf row escalates with flight bans to Qatar.

A growing number of Arab countries including Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Libya and Yemen have cut diplomatic ties with Qatar claiming it is supporting terrorism including so-called Islamic State and al-Qaeda in the Gulf region.

With flight bans to Qatar, air space is being closed to Qatar Airlines and all flights to and from Doha on Etihad, Gulf Air and Emirates have been suspended until further notice. In addition, all land and sea routes have also been closed.

Qatari nationals in Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and the UAE have been given two weeks to leave.

Clearly flight bans to Qatar will affect air traffic throughout the Gulf region as Doha, the Qatari capital, plays a significant role in international flight connections.

The Qatari government has resolutely denied these allegations.

British Airways together with other European airlines fly regular services to Doha and currently, these services are unaffected.

Any passengers with bookings are advised to call +974 4023 0072 or contact their nearest Qatar Airways office.
