For anyone who tackles long haul travel, the day when direct flights become the norm cannot come quick enough. Can the unwanted stop over really be coming to an end?  As Skyscanner uncovers the direct flights we wish existed through some latest research, it seems there is some light at the end of the tunnel.

In a £145 million overhaul  the frequent non-stop service between London Victoria and Gatwick Airport looks a lot different these days. Replacing the 30 year old rolling stock,  27 new trains and 108 new carriages form the main face lift for the Gatwick Express.

The government announcement yesterday (Tuesday 26th October) that confirms Heathrow third runway approval has lit the touch paper on everything from environmental and housing issues to who will eventually pay for it.
