Glamping at Livingstone Lodge. Serengetti in Kent
Sitting out on the decking of The Laapa Restaurant with a glass of decent red, as a herd of giraffes, back lit by the sunset, elegantly strolled past was almost too good. If I didn’t know better, I would have said the whole thing was stage managed, such is the genius of a night glamping at Livingstone Lodge.

Blue Door Bistro at the Montague on the Gardens. Discover delicious dining on Russell Square.
The Montague Hotel tucked away a stone’s throw from the leafy environs of Russell Square, may be not enjoy the celebrity status of some of Red Carnation’s top tier of properties, such as The Milestone for example, but has enough of owner Beatrice Tollman’s trademark artworks and fancy knick knacks about it to leave no doubt of its provenance. It is a stylish boutique hotel with all the hallmarks of Red Carnation’s service and its snug Blue Door Bistro is certainly an eatery worthy of a mention.

Mill Hill Golf Club. Beautiful Course Next to Elstree Studios
There’s a legendary story around these parts that Henry Cotton rated the third hole at Mill Hill Golf Club as “one of the best golf holes I have ever played.” He may well have said that, after all, the third hole is a tricky little gem, but whether or not you believe in legends, one thing is for real, Mill Hill Golf Club is a hidden treasure of a course with an illustrious past.
