Croce's Park West

Super Croce’s Park West. San Diego honours the great Jim Croce.

Croce’s Park West. For those of a certain age Jim Croce will be remembered as an American folk singer & songwriter of such classics songs as Time in a Bottle and Bad Bad Leroy Brown. Croce sadly died in a plane crash in 1973 at the age of just 30 shortly after moving to San Diego with his wife and singing partner Ingrid. Lucy Daltroff reviews the Boathouse Cafe in Plymouth the legendary seafood restaurant.

The Boathouse Cafe. Discover Plymouth’s wonderful seafood legend.

Eating a deliciously fresh lemon sole by Sutton harbour and the mouth of the River Plym with the sun shining on the water, was a great way to first experience the much underrated city of Plymouth. It was there that I met Ben Squire, owner of The Boathouse Cafe who told me his own story.

Andy Mossack samples the food at Tavern Maslina at Hotel Dubrovnik Palace and finds the view is just as good as the food. alhdubrovnikpalacerestaurantmaslina6 87 hoteldubrovnikpalacefandb 2001

England can proudly boast a fine cheese-making heritage and you won’t find a better example than Ford Farm cheeses. And in particular its smoked cheese range.

Bertrand At Mr A's

Brilliant Bertrand at Mr A’s. San Diego

I knew when the Maître D offered the choice of black or white napkins we were in for a special night. Situated in the heart of San Diego’s financial district, Bertrand at Mr A’s affords probably the most spectacular views of any restaurant in the city. During daylight hours, the office block where the restaurant is situated is a bustling centre, but entering the deserted building at night you feel as if you have been given access to a secret location.

Square 1682

Square 1682. Culinary excellence in Philly

There is something rather satisfying in being told that what you’ve just ordered has been an ‘inspirational choice’. I feel very pleased with myself that somehow I managed to pick the one item on the Square 1682 Philadelphia menu that surpassed all the others, and took a moment to glory in my success.
